An armed robber in Panama City Beach chose the wrong victim when he demanded money from a man in a vehicle at the Callaway Chase Apartments.

The would be victim was actually an off duty Panama City Beach police officer.

The officer was at the apartment to meet an individual after emailing an the person on Craigslist who he suspected of stealing his girlfriend’s laptop.

The suspect approached the officer’s vehicle, drew a gun, and demanded money.

The officer drew his own firearm and shot the suspect multiple times.

The suspect later showed up at an area hospital seeking medical treatment.
