Academy Sports Employee in GA Shoots Man in the Jaw Who Was Breaking Into His Car

According to police, an Academy Sports employee in Macon, GA was leaving work and walking to his car around 1am. That’s when he found Charles Stinson JR breaking into his vehicle.

When the employee confronted Stinson, Stinson became violent and the employee shot him in self defense.

It is unclear from the article if the employee was carrying the gun on his person, retrieved it from his car or took it from Stinson.

Stinson was treated for a gunshot wound to the jaw and is being treated at an area hospital. He will be charged after his release from the hospital. No charges are expected against the employee.
