A 19 year old resident in Pennsylvania had to use deadly force to defend himself, his girlfriend and his home when two armed men forced their way in and opened fire.

According to TRIB Live,

The apartment resident, whom authorities did not identify, told police that one of the men shot into the door of his first-floor apartment, and they pushed inside, Toler said. They shoved a 19-year-old man, who lives there with his 17-year-old girlfriend, into a bedroom and asked for “his stuff,” she said.

The tenant pulled out a shotgun and fired three times, hitting both men, Toler said.

One of the intruders was killed instantly inside of the apartment. The second intruder managed to make his way outside of the apartment, where he collapsed. He was transported to an area hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

It should be noted that under current law, the resident is not allowed to purchase a handgun from an FFL dealer. While the shotgun certainly did the job this time, I don’t think anyone would argue that having more options would be a bad idea.

Police do not expect the resident to face any charges and say he was completely within his rights.

This is the 47th defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state of Pennsylvania and the 1,234th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
