We reported on the defensive gun use that happened in Ohio earlier this week in which one of two would be robbers was shot and killed by the store’s owner.

We also reported that the family of the deceased teen “wanted answers” about why their relative died.

Now, the family continues to speak out in a subsequent interview. According to FOX45,

Other family members who gathered Tuesday night to grieve the teen’s death say the robbery attempt was not like the boy they knew.

“He wasn’t a villain,” Brooks said. “He was a good kid, and kids have problems.”

“That was not my nephew,” said another uncle, Bruce Talbott. “He was not that kind of person and I don’t want the world to think that. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. What made him do that?”

Family’s of deceased suspected criminals speaking out publicly seems to be a growing trend recently.

The coroner recently deemed the suspect’s death to be a homicide, but this doesn’t mean the shop owner will be charged. All deaths causes by another person are considered homicides. In this case, it will likely be ruled a justifiable homicide.
