stock_DDM4LE-SSPMost states in the USA don’t currently require any form of gun registration. Registration on the federal level is currently illegal due to the Firearm Owners Protection Act.

However, several states do currently have some form of firearm registration. Most recently, we saw the state of Connecticut enact registration for a class of firearms now referred to by the state as “assault weapons” as well as standard caacity magazines.

According to some estimates, tens of thousands, and possibly over 100,000 CT citizens did not register their firearms.

This has many commentators wondering if the citizens of CT are exercising civil disobedience in protest of the law or are simply not aware of the law. However, we do know that tens of thousands of residents did register their firearms.

Alternatively, in many other states such as California, New York, and other states, registration of certain types of firearms is the norm and seems to be accepted by a majority of gun owners.

In today’s poll, we ask you, our readers if you would partake in gun registration if it was implemented at the state or federal level.

Assume that failure to register firearms in this situation would result in a felony conviction and thus affect your ability to own firearms legally for the remainder of your life.
