This is a question that is often polarizing among anti and pro-gun supporters and even among pro-gun supporters.

In the last few days we’ve reported two different stories in which minors (a 13 year old and a 15 year old) used firearms to defend themselves, their homes and/or their families. We’ve also reported similar stories in the past.

However, some children do die due to irresponsible gun handling each year.

Some states have even gone as far as to create laws which make it a crime for minors to be able to access firearms without an adult present.

We want to know what you think, so answer the poll below and be sure to sound off in the comments.

Do your children have access to your firearms? Are they trained in their use? Debate is encouraged, but keep the comments clean and no personal attacks.

Note: This is not a scientific poll and will likely only be answered by members of the gun community. Results may not update in realtime, so be sure to check back throughout the day for results.
