I have to wonder if that $100,000 represents wholesale cost or retail, panic prices, but anyway, it looks like a Colorado gun shop took a major hit in a recent theft.

According to the Arvada, CO Police Department,

ammo-1-201402271704The Arvada Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle that was used to steal more than $100,000 in ammunition from a local gun store.

The thieves also stole several other miscellaneous items, but no guns were taken in the theft. The burglary took place on Thursday, February 20 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The vehicle used in the theft is described as a 2000 to 2006-model Chevy Tahoe, white with distinct black markings.

Police are asking that anyone with more information call them at 720.898.6900.

CBS Denver has more details on the theft,

The shop owner says the trailer was packed full of gun accessories and ammunition in preparation for an upcoming gun show. Investigators say it was parked back behind the business.

“They took the trailer and transported it to another location and then loaded up another U-Haul and took it out of there,” McGranahan said.

According to the shop owner, that switch happened just a few miles away at a Shell gas station. That’s where the Tahoe was caught on camera. Investigators say the camera angles make it tough to read the plate but they’re hoping the photo will prompt new leads.
