According to media reports we are seeing our second mass shooting in a week.

Several media outlets are reporting 12 shot, currently no fatalities in a shooting in a park in Chicago.

Earlier this week we saw over 12 people killed at the Navy Yard in Washington DC.

Both DC and Chicago have among the strictest gun control laws in the nation and are seen as models by gun control activists.

As of right now, authorities are reporting no suspects in custody.

Authorities are also reporting 3 of the victims are in critical condition.

We will update with more details as they become available.

According to the Chicago Tribune,

The shootings appeared to have taken place on a basketball court on the 51st Street side of Cornell Square Park near Wood Street. Ambulances were still responding about half an hour after the shootings took place, as injured people were still being brought out of the park on stretchers. About 60 police officers were on the scene.

Chicago is known for a problem of gang related violence. According to one witness in an Associated Press report, the incident may have been gang related.
