It was a scary situation for retired marine Anthony Broyles as he was trying to spend some time with his young daughter near Lake Coeur d’Alene in Idaho. Broyles said a man attempted to sneak up behind him with a knife in what he believes was an attempt to kidnap his daughter. This story is both a defensive gun use and a bit of an outrage story. A gas station clerk, Shannon Cothran, in Nashua, NH was working the late shift at the Shell gas station at 301 Main St. in Nashua, NH when a man armed with a knife entered the store in an attempt to rob it. Why was this not covered in 2010 when it occurred? Apparently a man armed with 2 firearms entered a Tennessee school in 2010, held a gun to the principal's head and began asking where the fire alarm was. Fortunately the school's armed resource officer was nearby and managed to draw her weapon, hold the man at gunpoint and allow the principal to escape to safety. According to the Chicago Tribue and police, an armed 19 year old man attempted to rob a jewelry store in Chicago. The robber knew the store owner and the owner considered him to be a friend. While the suspect was trying to disable the store's surveillance cameras the shop owner saw his chance and retrieved a .380 caliber handgun he keeps in the store. He shot the suspect once. The suspect is in police custody.
