A co-worker bought a Wallyworld DPMS sportical and on the 7th shot it gave up the ghost. He was shooting Winchester green tip 556 just ordered from Midway.

These were taken in the parking lot at work, he's yet to ram out the spent casing to see what the problem is/was.

I feel really bad for him this is his third gun of the year I recommended for him and it crapped out (ammo or rifle?) at least his p250 and redhawk are hanging in there. LOL

Yeah stamped 556.... I don't think it was a gun problem we'll see what the factory says.

Well he got it back today (missed UPS yesterday) the "gunsmith notes" mentioned in his e-mail was "Catastrophic Malfunction" LOL whatever that means. They shipped him back a complete new upper along with a plastic case.

He says the finish isn't the same on this upper compared to the one he shipped. He calls it "gray" looking compared to the more black finish on the original one.

Yeah he's pretty happy to have it back. They had pretty good turnaround and service it seems.

I know I'm late to all these posting "Sorry" Out of all the DPMS AR-15's I have sold this is the first one I have heard about something like this happening. Although there is always a chance you can get a bad apple every once in awhile. We sell a big assortment of AR's and most of them if you took off the brand name you couldn't tell them apart. I have the same DPMS and have never had any problem with it. I know this is not the case, but in my store we usually get guys that buy wolf ammo and a round will get stuck in the barrel, but that's because they went out and bought cheap wolf lacquered ammo.
