I will never understand how some Americans can have so much hatred for, and so little understanding of, America.

My first thought on reading that article was that he broke a cardinal rule up front. NEVER volunteer for a search, even if you believe you have nothing to hide. However, keeping this mans guns after all charges were dismissed amounts to theft, in my opinion.

Same topic, same author; no need for a new thread: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/may/17/soldier-wants-his-guns-back/

This time Ms. Miller tells us of Congressional pressure on D.C.'s MPD to do the right thing and return Lt. Kim's property.
And we're not talking about one or two cheap pistols here. As described in the first article, the MPD has more than $10,000 of Lt. Kim's property, including an AR-15, upper receiver, several customized pistols and various other customized parts. This is a story worth tracking...and I have a feeling Emily Miller will get results worth reading about.

Wow! That was fast! I had never heard of this story until last week when it appeared in Emily Miller's column, and I had the impression not many others had heard of it either.
Emily's column seems to have been the primary source of the national publicity that made this possible. The young woman needs to run for office! With a couple hundred like her in Congress, this country could be greater than ever!

It is a crying shame that ANY American would have to be subjected to this over lawfully owned firearms - but I am truly sickened that such a travesty was inflicted upon a veteran... Wow.. I say again, when I perform my duties, they WILL square with the Constitution... Period. My oath of office and that of virtually every other LEO out there contains some variation of "support and defend" or "uphold" the "Constitution and laws of the United States of America and the State of _" now this would be one thing if he had been perpetrating and convicted of a crime involving the firearms, or if he had been a convicted felon... Barring that, there was no viable reason to keep this brave soldier's weapons.

Thanks, AsstChief. Most Americans know that most LEOs are as reasonable as you, and most LEAs are not as crazy as D.C.'s MPD.
