This is a challenge issued to all readers here.

Once a week, do something to help promote the Second Amendment/Gun Rights and post about it here to give others some ideas on how they can as well.

Could be something as simple as taking a first time shooter to the range, writing a letter to your state representatives, making a donation/purchasing a membership from a grassroots organization, simply talking to people about gun rights, etc.

You get the idea. So what have you done lately and what are you planning to do? Yes, I'm telling you to brag about it ;). Hopefully what's posted here will inspire and give others ideas about how they can help out.

Does becoming a Founding Member of a pro-RKBA web forum count?

I'm trying to schedule a trip to a range with a couple of friends to teach them how to shoot a revolver.

I recently joined the USCCA and have been educating myself and others about Concealed Carry and mostly self defense. I read an article that instructed mostly women to use a small hand held flashlight to fend off an attacker. I shared the technique with most of the women I know and bought my daughter her own flashlight. In MD she can not carry legally and I think it important for women to be able to defend themselves. As the opportunities present themselves, I have been speaking with others about having a gun available in your home and have really opened some eyes. It is kind of interesting when you start to talk to people about home defense and situational awareness and you see that they really have never thought about it. Now I am working on getting a co-worker who has never fired a gun, she's 57, to go to a range and learn first hand that guns are not that mysterious.

I think I'll do another 2A rights video. I think some of you have seen the one I did to try and help boost more ladies to carry. I want to do one for 2A in general. Here's the other one for those that havn't seen it yet. I'll post the other one when I'm done.

Well, another week has gone by, what have you done this week?

I joined a grassroots organization in another state which is doing good work there.

    Well?

Besides running this site I wrote an editorial letter to a regional paper on gun laws (we'll see if it gets published, lol).

It doesn't take money to support the 2A. Talk to a family member about getting a carry permit, write a letter to a legislator, write a letter to a local paper, take a new shooter to the shooting range, donate $5 to the pro 2A organization of your choice, volunteer to work a pro 2A booth at a gun show ( you can probably get into a gun show for free), or just find an online gun rights poll and vote in favor of the 2A.

DO SOMETHING and post it here to motivate others!

Last Saturday I met some friends from work at the pistol range, our second such planned range visit in the last five or six weeks. Neither of them have shot much; one is a retired Navy Chief, the other served one enlistment in the Army about 20 years ago. Taught them both a little marksmanship and safe gun handling, though I suppose it was more refresher training than anything else. In any case, both are becoming more interested in regular shooting, self-defense and concealed carry.

This Saturday I'm taking my oldest daughter to the range, her first visit since May. She's been gone all summer working at a Christian camp for teens, saving money for her second year of college. She just got home yesterday, starts next semester in two weeks. A year ago was the first time she accepted my invitation to the range, and she didn't like it at all. Then, unexpectedly, she asked me if I would take her to a local range last March when my wife visited her at school. Now she loves to go, but has little opportunity. I expect she'll be wanting a CWP as soon as she is 21. I have four other kids too, but none loves to shoot as much as her. And she's pretty good too--better than her three brothers, possibly explaining their decreased interest in shooting whenever she's home.

Should read, "...when my wife and I visited her at school."

The best thing you can all do is to realise that bearing arms is not a right.

Yeah, you can point to the second amendment and be all like "it's says that it's a right - right there". That does not make it a right.

Just because you think you know something about Natural Rights, doesn't mean that you do. Read this, and tell me what you think: http://jim.com/rights.html

If you will not read it, why would we be interested in what you think?

I haven't written, but Saturday I went to my favorite LGS and signed a petition to let SC's newest senator, Tim Scott, know that we expect him to stand firmly against any new legislation that threatens our right to keep an bear arms.
