You just got your rental car for the weekend and you open the trunk to make sure your spare tire is good to go (you do check the spares on your rental right?), and what do you find?

Well, if you’re a mother from New York (of course she would be from New York) visiting Florida you find model Lauren Tannehill’s AR-15.

According to the Sun Sentinel,

It wasn’t until two days later when her daughter raised the seats so they could go for a drive with friends when she discovered the bag, Fleissig said.

Thinking they would just call the owner, they searched for an ID, but there was none, she said. Her daughter unzipped the bag and said, “‘Oh my God, it’s a gun.’ I said, ‘I think I’m going to throw up,’” Fleissig said.

“We got out of the car, we were kind of freaked out,” Judith Fleissig recalls of the moment this month when she and her daughter found the weapon. “I didn’t want to touch it.”

Fleissig took the gun straight to the police, and apparently based on her comments was convinced if she touched it the gun would kill everyone in a 12 mile radius.

The rifle was returned to the Tannehills, who regularly post shooting photos on social media. Police say it was simply a mistake and no laws were broken.

On another note, that’s a pretty nice setup. Not my exact cup of tea for the accessories, but a solid setup nonetheless.
