So all the kids on social media participate in throwback Thursday where they post up old pictures and everyone has a good time.

We thought it would be fun to do the same thing except for gun stories. So here is our first Throwback Thursday gun story.

In this video, a police sharpshooter shoots the gun right out of the hand of a man who is holding himself hostage in the street.

The man was suicidal and was demanding to speak to his girlfriend and for his attorney to finalize his will.

The sniper who took the shot was long time Officer Mike Plum.

Reportedly, after the suspect’s gun was shot out of his hand he said, “That was a great shot.”

All in all, it’s pretty amazing that the suspect wasn’t more severely hurt.

As best as I can tell, the original incident happened in the early 1990’s and has been recounted on television and the web on a fairly regular basis since.
