This is the third weekend in 2014 in which over 30 people were shot in Chicago, IL.

Of course, outside of local media, we’re not hearing too much about this.

If a man armed with an AR15 went a shooting spree over the course of a weekend through town, hitting 30 people in the process, it’s all the national media would be able to talk about for weeks, if not months. However, when it happens in the inner-city and with handguns, it’s virtually ignored.

It should also be noted, that up until a few months ago Chicago had some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, and Illinois as a whole, while its getting better, is still a fairly strict gun control state compared to many others.

According to NBC Chicago,

More than 40 people were shot, five of them fatally, in a spate of violence across Chicago between Friday and Sunday night.

The latest homicide took place around 12:25 a.m. Sunday in the 3500 block of West Fullerton Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood. A 21-year-old woman was in the back seat of a vehicle driving eastbound on Fullerton when a group of men standing on the sidewalk shouted gang slogans and opened fire on the car.

Don’t hold your breath on hearing about this from the mainstream media.

I touched on this exact topic in a Youtube video last week:
