At a recent event organized by Connecticut Citizens Defense League, Newtown father Bill Stevens took the stage with his daughter.

Stevens asked his daughter, Victoria, if she felt safer with her armed father or being locked down with unarmed teachers in school.

“Obviously with my Dad,” she replied to cheers. “The teachers don’t know how to protect us, really.”

“I’d just like to say that there are a lot of law-abiding gun owners in Newtown who are sick and very darned tired of politicians using the tragedy in our town to promote a political agenda,” continued Stevens.

Stevens’ children were not at Sandy Hook during the shooting that took place there, but they were locked down at a nearby school.

You might also remember Stevens from his pro gun testimony before the Connecticut state legislature on a proposed gun bill.

“You will take my ability to protect my [daughter] Victoria from my cold dead hands,” Stevens said to the lawmakers in attendance.

Here is that video.
