One California school district is taking action to protect the students in their schools.

The Fontana Unified School District Police Department purchased 14 AR-15 rifles for their officers to store at locations on the school for quick deployment by their officers in an active shooter scenario. Note that these are semi-automatic rifles, not fully automatic M4′s that the military uses.

The school district police chief and superintendent support the decision, but others are speaking out against the action.
