A short film, being billed as public service announcement, made by anti-gun filmmaker Rejina Sincic is causing quite the stir online.
The video, posted to Youtube, seems to encourage young people to steal their parents guns and take them to school.
In the film, a teenage boy is shown sneaking into his mother’s room, removing her gun from a dresser drawer and placing it in his book bag.
At several points the boy’s finger is clearly on the trigger and he makes no effort to check the gun to see if it’s clear.
The puts the gun into the main compartment of his bag, unholstered, presumably with other items, and then goes to school.
After other children have left for the day, the boy walks up to his teacher, places the gun on her desk and says, “Can you take this away? I don’t feel safe with a gun in my house.”
Of course the obvious safety concerns portrayed in this video are troubling. Also troubling is that the video seems to be encouraging teens to commit numerous felonies.
The video currently has 28 “thumbs up” and 3,154 “thumbs down” on Youtube. It has been viewed nearly 40,000 times.
