If you ever had any doubt that New Jersey was one of the worst state’s in the country for gun rights then this story should open your eyes.

Gordon VanGilder is facing 10 years in prison after he was arrested for having a 300 year old, antique flintlock pistol in his car in the Garden State.

Here are some details from NRA News:

“Beware of New Jersey,” warns Gordon VanGilder. The retired schoolteacher is the latest to fall victim to the Garden State’s gun laws — the 72-year-old is facing up to 10 years in prison for having an antique flintlock pistol in his car. In this exclusive report, his attorney notes that VanGilder is facing the same felony charge for his unloaded mid-1700s firearm as he would be for a loaded .44 Magnum. “This is overreach, for sure,” says VanGilder.

Here is the 300 year old antique flintlock that VanGilder was arrested with. It is currently in possession of New Jersey authorities.

Well done New Jersey, way to keep those dangerous, elderly, flintlock wielding gangbangers off the street.
