Vets Getting Letters From VA Taking Away Their Gun Rights (Copies of Letter Attached)

Yesterday we reported that there are combat veterans all over the country who are receiving letters that are deeming them incompetent manage their VA benefits.

What is even more interesting is that these letters contain a clause that basically removes the individual’s Second Amendment rights without any due process of law.

The reasons vets are receiving these letters is still being investigated, but it seems that simply being injured, suffering from PTSD, or mentioning that you are depressed to a VA doctor might be reason enough to receive one of these letters.

Click Here to download a copy of one of these letters (PDF Format).

All veterans who apply for disability benefits (not just PTSD) get this letter. I was able to prove that I wasn’t incompetent, so they dropped it. All it took was a letter from my bank saying that I’d been handling my accounts (checking and saving) competently, and a letter from my VA physician stating that she did not agree with the assessment of incompetency. The matter was dropped.

You should not have to jump through these hoops to prove to the VA that you are competent. You fought for our Country (thanks, Ret Army here). Any other segment of our community being forced to do this? This is wrong on so many levels. Once again thanks for your service.

What did the letter look like? I get so much crap that looks official for streamlining my VA mortgage. I don’t want to miss this one

Peculiar!! Why did you not print it?? Why make people download it?? I like your site alot but something like that makes me wonder. You must be familiar with the likes of CO-INTELPRO type agencies. Just think of the field day they have in the techno environment we live in today. All the sites they can make to herd folks into, under false pretenses. I am going to pass on the download.

I was under the impression that in order to have your rights removed in that fashion, there has to be an actual trial. Not just a letter from a no-name VA employee.

Yeah, it’s that little number called “Due Process”, without which no one may be deprived of their rights. I’d rather have a vet with the amount of PTSD that many field troopies have watching my 6 than, say, Shotgun Joe Biden.

We can expect much more of this as the Obamaites strive to shred the Constitution. I have already been denigrated because I’m a veteran who owns bibles and guns and opposes taxpayer-financed abortion on demand. The Department of Homeland Security says I’m a potential terrorist.
It is well past the time for The People to begin invoking the 10th Amendment and whittling the central government back to its Constitutional proportions.
We must begin a strong resistance to galloping federalism before it becomes too late to avoid a bloody revolution.

I am so tired of government interference into my house, bedroom, and religious practices! What’s wrong with being a gay, stoned, satanist, right?

Nothing at all, as long as you aren’t infringing on anyone else’s liberties.

We could really use YOUR help. On 19 April we will be celebrating the 238th anniversary of the first shots of the Revolutionaly war, when in 1775 a small band of citizens stood up to British tyranny. On that day we are going to march to the SC State House and proclaim to the government that we are tired of all that is going on and ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Please help us rally the troops and spread the word as we are hoping to get other states to do the same. We ask for no money or donations from anyone, only involvement. If we can get this noticed nationally there is a possibility that we can have the kind of turn out that will send a message to the government. Thank you in advance for your help and please copy and post this EVERYWHERE you can.: Get Involved–Spread The Word–Make A Stand… ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tired-Patriot/351589138287014?fref=ts

Well this explains why it is now taking the VA 24-30 months following seperation to process disability claims for those veterans who applied under the “quick start” program (which was designed to make a decision of disability BEFORE they separated).

They are wasting time writing these types or letters.

Good thing congress took the executive bonus away from all the VA senior executive service this year.
