Secretary of Defense Tells US Troops That Civilians Don’t Need “Assault Weapons” for Duck Hunting

According to The Truth About Guns, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said the following to troops stationed in Italy.

“I’ve been duck hunting since I was 10-years-old. I love to hunt and I love to be able to share that joy with my kids. But for the life of me, I don’t know why the hell people have to have an assault weapon.”

I don’t remember seeing anything about duck hunting in the Bill of Rights. Maybe I need to reread that part.

It is no surprise that the former Clinton Chief of Staff is anti-gun. What is more concerning is that one of the top ranking officials in the Department of Defense is apparently trying to turn US servicemen and women against the Second Amendment.
