Chris Kyle, a renowned Navy Seal sniper and author the NY Time Bestseller, American Sniper, was shot and killed at a gun range in Texas along with another former soldier.

According to the Daily Caller, Kyle was doing work helping soldiers with PTSD by taking them to a gun range when one of the men snapped and killed Kyle along with another former solider he was helping.

The suspect then fled the scene in Kyle’s vehicle but was caught by police. Law enforcement officials say they believe the suspect, Eddie Ray Routh is a “highly trained individual with military experience.”

Kyle had 160 confirmed sniper kills in his career which spanned four tours of duty in Iraq. He also made headlines last year when he allegedly punched Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura.

Kyle was 38 and is survived by his wife and two children.

RIP sailor.
