Every hog hunter dreams of finding that one monster hog and making the shot of a lifetime. Jett Webb got that opportunity on a recent hunt in Bertie County, NC.

The beast had been seen on trail cameras in recent weeks (and may have first appeared on camera as long as 2 years ago) and hunters had taken to the woods to locate the giant.

Feral hogs are considered a pest species throughout most of the country as they can wreak havoc on both crops and native species populations. Because of this, many states do not consider them game animals and they can be hunted year round with any type of legal weapon (please check your state’s local laws).

According to WNCT,

The massive animal didn’t stand a chance against veteran hunter Jett Webb’s .308 caliber rifle.

“It was very surreal,” recalls Webb. β€œIt was a shock. It was very humbling to say the least, when you walk up on a beast that big and you say, ‘Oh my gosh. I had no idea that there could be something that big running around the woods of Eastern North Carolina.’”

The WNCT article also has several other images of the hog from different angles.
