Pediatrician Handout Says, “Never have a gun in the home…If you must…store it unloaded and locked”

Breitbart’s Mary Chastain Tweeted the following, with the below image attached. Apparently she got it in a handout from her child’s pediatrician.

In case you can’t view the image it says, “Never have a gun in the home. If you must have a gun, store it unloaded and locked with the ammunition locked separately from the gun.”

So basically they want you to be disarmed, but if you really feel like you have to have a gun you should only have one as a paperweight.

While there are certainly extra precautions that should be taken in homes with children and guns, disarming isn’t one of them. Training, proper safety handling, and securing guns when not being carried/used are certainly some of them.

This is the Tweet sent out by Chastain (@mchastain81), “So The American Academy of Pediatrics told me never to have a gun in the house. I say FU.
