While President Obama may not have signed sweeping gun legislation via executive order on Wednesday (although he did sign 23 executive orders) the administration is still waging war on the Second Amendment on multiple fronts.

The administration is trying to use doctors, children and even trying to sway military members to be anti Second Amendment.

One of the executive orders signed by the president will make it easier for your doctor to legally ask you about guns in your home. This means you could be facing a gun safety lecture the next time you go in for a check up. Apparently, the administration thinks it can use the inherent trust of the doctor/patient relationship to turn some people against gun ownership. (Source: Fox News)

If that wasn’t enough, the president has enlisted children, who arguably are not old enough to understand the importance of their Constitutional rights, to lobby for more gun control. The administration has released several letters written by children calling for more gun control. I am sure these children all did independent research to reach their own conclusions about guns and were not swayed by parents or teachers in the slightest (yeah right). (Source: Today News)

The Military

Finally, the Obama administrations own Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, addressed US troops based in Italy earlier this week saying, “I’ve been duck hunting since I was 10-years-old. I love to hunt and I love to be able to share that joy with my kids. But for the life of me, I don’t know why the hell people have to have an assault weapon.” To use the secretary’s own language, what the hell does duck hunting have to do with the Second Amendment? What the hell is his definition of an “assault weapon”? Panetta was Bill Clinton’s Chief of Staff when the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban was passed. (Source: The Truth About Guns)

It should be obvious that the Obama administration plans to use people that you trust and cherish the most, doctors, your children, and our brave service members to try and change the dialogue on gun control.

Don’t think that just because the President did not issue sweeping executive orders on Wednesday that there is not still going to be a fight in the media and the legislature.
