List of Pro Second Amendment Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (110+)

The following sheriffs have all allegedly taken some action to help uphold the Second Amendment in the face of possible new gun legislation.
Almost all have said they will not take place in order sort of future gun confiscation of any kind and some say they will refuse to enforce ANY new gun laws. Some have signed letters written by their state’s sheriff’s association. Some have pulled their office’s business from anti Second Amendment businesses.
We have not independently verified all of these, but all are based on third party reports. If a sheriff is listed here that should not be, or if you would like to be added to the list, Contact Us and we’ll get it updated.
Sorry if a name is in the list twice. We’re getting new additions pretty often and we’re still working on cleaning it up.

there is an error on the list,

Johnson County, Kansas Frank Denning
Does anyone know anything about Wyandotte County, Miami County, Linn County, and Leavenworth County in KANSAS?
I would appreciate any help, thank you.
WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL OF THE NY STATE SHERIFFS ?
agreed
WHERE ARE THE VIRGINIA SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENTS. ??
Thank u Mr. Chuck Wright i live in Spartanburg SC thank u for helping keep up ourt rights and our 2nd amendment right ur the best Sheriff Spartanburg has ever had!!
Shoshone County, North Idaho Sheriff should be added to the list too.
And there is not one sheriff from Illinois on the list, yet many have run as conservative Republicans. There is one States’ Attorney in the state that has said he won’t prosecute concealed carry cases as Illinois is the only state in the nation to not have CCW. Chicago politicians (one of the leaders in crime and murder) just can’t see the forest because of all the trees. Fools.
I sent an email that begin with praise for a job well done and a plea to consider joining the growing list of law enforcement personal that are taking a stand to Will County sheriff Paul Kaupas. He has not joined any official list but did reply with “I support the 2nd amendment and the entire Constitution”
I’d be happy to email my letter to any one that requests it if you’d like to change the sheriff name and and send it to YOUR local sheriff.
We need to get and stay involved!
Check out. ..

Sure wish my State of Missouri was looking as good as New Mexico and Utah.
Sure wish my California wasn’t so full of liberal scum and that they supported us & our laws as well as they support the hoards of illegal aliens that are taking over the state I once loved.
Come on Ohio Sheriff’s lets get on the ball.
Join with all these other Great Sheriff’s and police Chiefs.
Thank You all for all your service. God Bless
I want to thank each one of you for standing up for us. God Bless You !!!!
I want to thank every sheriff’s office too! God bless you all for standing up for our rights! I hope my county will soon join…Johnson County, Indiana.
AWESOOOOOOOMEEE
Hell yeah! Glad to see at least there are some good police force members out there!
Please add Tom Sheahan to this list from Mohave County Arizona.
The Sheriff believes in the Second Amendment as it was written and its intent.
The Sheriff does not and will never support any legislation that attempts to restrict magazine capacity and does not support any type of “assault weapon” ban.
Additionally he will not support any unlawful confiscation of firearms from law abiding citizens which violates the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Sheriff is a firm believer in the stance taken by the National Rifle Association (NRA).

you’ve got this one twice: Grant County, Oregon Sheriff Glenn Palmer
where are any sheriff,s from Indiana
Indiana where are you? stand up for the 2nd
Yes Indiana….where are you? Johnson County….please join these fine men and women and keep your oath!
C’mon Tennessee, supposed to be the volunteer state. Get to itvolunteer tour support.
Sorry to see none from Indiana.
I only seen one from Florida ! Where are our other sheriffs ! Ohio needs to get their Sheriffs aboard also.
We also need a list of those THAT WILL DO THE GOVERNMENT BIDING TO BE PUBLISHED ALSO, FORCE THIS ISSUE !
I have a document to be sent to every Politician on my site that needs to be shared with the entire country. Facebook is in the censoring mood and has been restricting sharing and private messages that would allow this information to get out.
https://www.facebook.com/rfgamble
I only saw 2 Sheriffs from Texas & none from Oklahoma. Come on Texas % Oklahoma give some support here
Both the State of Texas and Wyoming have announced legislative initiatives to lawfully ban any State, County, or local law enforcement officials from enforcing any gun ban or confiscation executed by executive order.
This would also include banning any Federal officer from doing so within their respective state borders as well.
I believe that Texas gun laws speak for all the Sheriffs there. GO TEXAS
Not many Texas Sheriffs on the list, come on guys and gals you know you support the 2nd.
I DID NOT SEE RANDOLPH COUNTY NC. SHERIFF….AND THAT HAS ME A LITTEL SCARED…..IF SOME ONE CAN TELL ME HOW TO FIND OUT WHERE HE STAND’S I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW …THANK YOU
ask him im sure hes got a facebook page
Where are the Clay County, MO sheriffs? Jump on there guys!
so where is our Apache County Arizona sheriff????
how about Sacramento county California?
ALSO, count in Beaufort County, North Carolina Sheriff:
http://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2013/01/first-in-the-nation-beaufort-county-nc-passes-gun-law-nullification-resolution/
I call total BS. You can be for gun regulations, of which we already have many, without being against the Second Amendment. These sheriffs aren’t pro-Second Amendment, they’re pro-their interpretation of it.
And the meaning of the Second Amendment has evolved through decades of Supreme Court decisions. It’s not up to some rural sheriff running for re-election to decide what it means. For god’s sake, it’s not about pro and anti. It’s about how to keep guns away from criminals.
“You can be for gun regulations, of which we already have many, without being against the Second Amendment”
Actually, you cannot. Shall not be infringed.
Most of us consider the current gun laws violations of the Second Amendment.
Umm, you left out a big part of the 2nd amendment: There is “well-regulated.” And there is “militia.” Both of which indicate restrictions.
There’s also the founder’s original intent, which was to let people take their muskets home, instead of keeping them in a central location. There’s the fact that the right to bear arms is already infringed: You cannot own a missile, for example.
And there’s the crucial fact that when two rights collide, the broader right wins. That’s why you can’t shout fire in a crowded theater. In this case, the supposed right to bear arms is colliding with people’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There’s a whole lot of elementary school children whose right to live outweighs your right not to fill out a form or have a background check. So it’s time to show some patriotism and make a small sacrifice so we Americans and our children can have better lives.
@Gato
I woud sacrifice my life for those kids and did put it on the line for 21 years in the military, so don’t talk to me about sacrifice. You are interpreting the 2nd just like you accuss these fine up standing Sheriffs of doing, so get over your own fears and volunteer in these schools to at least be a hall monitor. You Probably can muster the courage for that since you won’t stand for all American’s rights.
The term “regulated” means “disciplined” or “trained”.[122] In Heller, the U.S. Supreme Court stated that “[t]he adjective ‘well-regulated’ implies nothing more than the imposition of proper discipline and training.”[123]
Arizona is writing a law to make it illegal for the Feds to enforce their gun laws here. Several states are following suit.
We’ve all read the 2nd – and in plain (early 1800′s late 1700′s) English it’s clear what is meant. You can still get a copy of Noah Webster’s 1828 dictionary if needed…
What we really need here is to realize that enough is never enough – the tyranny of democracy fears the independent and able Citizen. And nothing makes a Citizen more able than firearms. More able to defend and protect that is, more able to resist and stand up. Since the at least 1930′s, human Rights have been under fire in America. What needs to be done is that Federal infringements on our basic human Right need to be either repealed at the federal level, or (much more likely) blocked at the State. And any State that attempts to block federal infringements, but continues to infringe itself, is not doing it’s Citizens any favors, to be kind.
Arizona is doing well so far – not only recognizing it’s Citizen’s Right to keep and bear arms, but now working on blocking federal infringement. More states need to follow Arizona’s lead here I think.
You have the Gilmer County, Georgia sheriff listed about 4 times. I think we all need to urge our sheriffs to be on this list! I guess the only way to do it is to contact our sheriffs and urge them.
Notice most are from the southwest part of the country. Thumbs up for all of the list!
Gato how are you qualified to determined what the intent of the second ammendnent is?
Don’t doubt the authority of the local Sheriff! A perfect example is Sheriff Mack. No one from Virginia on the list. Hopefully something is in the works. I also hope New York steps up to protect the citizens from the insane tyranny that’s happening there!
My hats off to all of the Sheriffs on this list. Wondering how our Sheriff feels about the 2nd. ( Cullman, Al.)
I read all the names out loud in RESPECT. These officers are defending their people by supporting them defending them
selves.
HEY! THANK YOU GUYS AND GALS! YOU TAKE GOOD CARE OF US AND WE THANK YOU AND WILL VOTE YOU IN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN….Austin.
Sheriff Roger Garrison, Cherokee County, GA should be added as the announcement was made last night.
http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/cherokee-county-sheriff-will-not-enforce-unconstit/nT4f9/
We citizens by the Constitution delegate certain powers to you as our public Servants. We are your Masters. The Sheriff and Chief of Police, State Attorney General and Governor are our protection from the federal government. Thank you for your courage and faithful service.
Oh, our courage and sense of Personal Responsibility to Arm ourselves is our first line of defense. Austin Berens
Lake county and Monterey county how come you have not back the 2nd?
Pend Oreille County, Washington Sheriff Alan Botzheim should be added.
Help Kansans get our sheriffs to stand up with Kansans, against these that want Americans guns!
YES!! Johnson County Kansas (Frank Denning) is the ONLY sheriff so far that I’ve found!! I’m trying to gather information on Wyandotte-Linn-Miami-Douglas-Leavenworth counties as well .. getting nowhere fast.
Where the hell are all the Missouri Sheriffs ??? Come on guys get it together and and get your names on here !!!
No New Jermany sheriff’s on that list? Probably because contract and pension are more important than the Constitution. BTW – There isn’t a police chief in the state of New Jersey who condones concealed carry and the NJSP’s Superintendent frowns upon it as well.
GATO. It’s obvious you lean waaaay left. The phrase “we’ll regulated” in late 1700′s meant “we’ll trained”. James Mason, the author of the second amendment, was asked who are the militia? He answered” the people are the militia”.
Hawaii no where to be found! Hope the Maui county sheriff decided to do the right thing. But this is O’HITLERS “home” state. I didn’t expect to see it, not with Aberzombie , and Hirono in office, both are members and chairpersons of the DSPA, and staunch supporters of O’HITLER , not gonna hold my breath!
I am a little saddened to NOT see that Butts County nor Newton County Sheriffs dept is not on the list although the oppressiveness of the Butts County Sheriffs dept leads me to believe that they believe the Second Amendment applies to officers only.
This list is great!! How about starting another list– of Police Chiefs around the country?? Including major cities.
Except that I’m hearing about many of these who pick and choose what parts onf the Constitution they support. Many are assisting federal DEA troops and I have found nothing in the Constitution that authorizes that. It is a State issue. Homeland Security says that if a sheriff’s department takes ANY FEDERAL $$$ that they are now beholden fully to the federal government.
Carlsbad,New Mexico…Eddy county sheriff is no longer Ernest Mendoza. It’s Scott London.
There is no Multnomah County in Washington(do you mean Oregon?).Bernallilo County NM appears to be the most poulated.
I really hope to see some from Nebraska considering we are a mostly conservative state
The list needs to be more hierarchical, as in State/County/Sheriff so you can eliminate duplicates and also make it easier to deal with. Even a simple 3-column spreadsheet could sort this mess.
WHERE ARE THE VIRGINIA SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENTS. ???
Where are all the Minnesota Sheriffs? Only ONE mentioned! Shame on the sheriffs NOT on this list. Anyone know where the Olmsted County sheriff stands on the Second Amendment?
Every Sheriff in Idaho issues concealed permits to those that apply and are cleared by the State Police (they do the fingerprint check). I daho is a “shall issue” state, Unlike Calirornia that is “may issue” state.
Kane County IL, where are you?
We would very much like to see you on this list of patriots.
Please ask Sheriff Patrick M. O’Flynn, Monroe county, New York why he is not on this list.
