George Zimmerman made headlines again last week when he was seen in a leaked photo touring the factory of Florida based gun maker, Kel Tec.
Kel Tec is the manufacturer of the 9mm PF9 handgun that Zimmerman used in self defense when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin in 2012.
Now, do to the widely publicized incident, both Kel Tec and Zimmerman’s attorneys have issued public statements on the matter.
Shawn Vincent, a spokesman for Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara, said that while Zimmerman is a free man and free to do anything he wishes, visiting the factory certainly wasn’t a planned PR move. According to Yahoo News,
“We certainly would not have advised him to go to the factory that made the gun that he used to shoot Trayvon Martin through the heart,” Shawn Vincent, a spokesman for attorney Mark O’Mara, told Yahoo News. “That was not part of our public relations plan.”
For their part, Kel Tec issued the following statement through their Facebook page,
Zimmerman was acquitted in the 2012 shooting back in July when an all female jury found that Zimmerman acted in self defense when he shot Trayvon Martin.
