Will Chris Christie Sign NJ Magazine Bill? If Signed, Will NJ Residents Comply?
It looks like Chris Christie is going to be front and center in the near future.
As we previously reported, it looks like the New Jersey legislature is poised to pass two gun control bills which will reach the governor’s desk.
The worse of the two bills will outlaw magazines that hold greater than 10 rounds. It looks like this bill was amended to not include any sort of grandfather clause.
Christie has been a mixed bag on gun control laws in the Garden State. On the one hand, Christie seemed to be a proponent of certain gun legislation following the Sandy Hook shootings but then later vetoed an anti-gun bill he seemed to initially support.
It’s no secret that Christie is considered one of the front runners for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016, and how he acts on these pieces of legilation will likely have a lasting impact on his perception among gun owners.
New Jersey already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country and already limits magazine capacity to 15 rounds. This new legislation is nothing more than an attempt to force currently law abiding gun owners to give up their legal property.
Should Christie sign the bill into law, there is talk that there will be civil disobedience of the new law. The following testimony was delivered to the NJ legislature earlier this month.
What do you think will happen?
