Four Colorado Sheriffs Pledge to Never Take Part in Federal Gun Confiscation.

Four Colorado sheriffs have spoken out against any possible, future gun confiscations should the federal or state governments ever attempt it.

It’s good to see law enforcement at the local level still respects the Second Amendment.

“I’m not in favor of confiscating weapons,” Hilkey said. All 64 members of the County Sheriffs of Colorado association “are of a like mind about this,” he said. Hilkey currently chairs the sheriffs’ association.

McKee said it should be the other way around. “Isn’t it a crying shame that a lawful American citizen has to have a license to carry a gun? I think the criminals should be required to get a license.”

Dunlap said his deputies “would quit first” before they would participate in gun confiscation. “The Second Amendment to me is one of the most important rights we have,” he said.
