According to Fox News, The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday approved a renewed assault-weapons ban, advancing the measure to the Senate floor where it will face intense resistance from Republicans and other gun-rights supporters.

The bill was approved by the committee on a party-line, 10-8 vote. Chief sponsor, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said she knows “the road is uphill” for the legislation, but sought to press her colleagues to consider the bill.

“Are we going to stand with the thousands of police chiefs and law enforcement officers who do support this bill? Are we going to stand with the victims of gun violence?” she said, stressing that the bill does not take “any weapons away from anybody” but would ban future purchases.

Feinstein says they aren’t taking weapons away from anyone. I completely disagree. They are taking weapons away from future generations. They are taking weapons away from your children and your grand children. These anti gunners don’t care if they see change in their lifetime. They are playing the long game. They don’t care if it take 100 years for firearms to be outlawed in the US, and they are willing to do their part in laying that groundwork.

This bill would ban a large majority of semi automatic handguns and rifles as well as limit ALL magazines at a federal level to 10 rounds.

This bill has little chance of actually passing the Senate and even less chance of passing the House, but we need to make sure that no “compromise” bills emerge in response to this one either.

Be vigilant, now more than ever.
