According to Fox News, both the NRA and Super PAC ran by anti gun New York mayor Michael Bloomberg are spending millions of dollars to back candidates sympathetic to their causes.

The Bloomberg PAC has spent over $2 million airing ads in Illinois during a primary race for Jesse Jackson Jr’s vacated House seat according to Fox News. Two of the possible replacements have high NRA scores and at least one opposes bans on so called “assault weapons”.

The NRA has been spending millions in pro gun ads and backing of candidates recently.

The spending trends tend to show that we are in for a long fight.
