I don’t normally report on the accomplishments of members of foreign militaries, but this one was too amazing not to share.

A British sniper is being credited with 6 kills using only 1 shot.

The shot was taken at 930 yards by a 20 year old Lance Corporal in the Coldstream Guards (see below for more info).

The sniper hit an insurgent who was wearing a suicide vest which detonated after its wearer was shot. The resulting blast killed 5 other nearby insurgents.

This young man likely saved numerous lives by preventing this suicide bomber from detonating himself near civilians or western troops.

According to Wikipedia,

The Coldstream Guards (COLDM GDS), is a part of the Guards Division, Foot Guards regiments of the British Army.

It is the oldest regiment in the Regular Army in continuous active service, originating in Coldstream, Scotland in 1650 when General George Monck founded the regiment. It is one of two regiments of the Household Division that can trace its lineage to the New Model Army, the other being the Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons).
